HEF Innovations in Education Grants awarded in 2018-19
HOLLISTON HIGH SCHOOL
1) "The Portal" - Inflatable classroom for students and teachers to video conference with others from around the world with the help of SharedStudios.com. Conversations on music, science, world events, culture and language provide a greater sense of global connectivity.
2) "Audio Storytelling Through Podcasting" - Equip a new english class with iPads, software, microphones and more to enable students to learn to produce documentary-style audio stories.
ADAMS MIDDLE SCHOOL
"RAMS Digital Makerspace" - Empower students to be creators of rich, sophisticated digital content. Multimedia productions will be created including podcasts, films, animation and websites.
MILLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL "STEAMM" - Enable students to create projects with new tools for Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Math and Motion (STEAMM) within the walls of the Miller school with new building tools like Dash & Dot Robots, Boxels, Cricut Die-Cutting, and G-Suite for Education.
PLACENTINO ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
1) "Look at Us - a Dive into Sage Creek" - French immersion students in 2nd grade are now connecting with a similar class in Sage Creek, Manitoba Canada; they have been using video recordings, Skyping, Padlet, Green Screen and Flipgrid tools to teach each other about cultures, customs, traditions and town features.
2) "Placentino Library Media Center & Makerspace" - Install an interactive touch screen display panel to facilitate immersive learning - connecting classrooms, students and teachers to the media center and beyond.
